About the project

The project was implemented in Balakliya, Kharkiv region, and aimed to support people at risk of violence, with a particular focus on women and girls. The initiative included the provision of specialized services: individual and group psychological support, legal assistance, information and education sessions, as well as courses for acquiring new skills and developing existing ones. By creating a safe and supportive space, the project contributed to the recovery of victims, their empowerment, social integration, and the strengthening of local communities.

  • This project addresses the urgent needs of vulnerable women and girls in Balakliya, helping them to recover, reintegrate into society, and realize their potential.
    - Provides specialized assistance – provides quality psychological, legal, and social support to help victims stabilize their emotional state and regain control over their lives.
    - Creates a safe space – fosters an atmosphere of trust where women and girls can openly talk about their experiences and receive support without judgment.
    - Prevents repeat violence – raises awareness of rights, protection mechanisms, and psychological safety, and develops self-defense and confidence skills.
    - Promotes social and economic integration – through group activities, educational sessions, and courses to acquire new or improve existing skills, opening up new opportunities for development.
    - Strengthens the community – helps to form active, supportive communities that bring survivors together and create support networks at the local level.

  • 1. Provision of specialized services to victims:
    ● Provide individual and group psychological support to women and girls who have experienced sexual or gender-based violence.
    ● Provide legal assistance, including advice on legal issues related to domestic violence, divorce, custody, etc.
    2. Raising awareness among women:
    ● Organize educational sessions aimed at informing women and girls about their rights and how to protect them.
    ● Conduct group information sessions on safety, health, leadership, and career development.
    3. Psychosocial support:
    ● Create conditions for individual and group therapy sessions using effective tools for emotional recovery.
    4. Rehabilitation through creativity and activities:
    ● Help participants regain their self-confidence and adapt to life in the community by involving them in joint activities and educational programs.
    ● Develop self-defense, nonviolent communication, and leadership skills.
    5. Creating a safe space:
    Provide women and girls with a space where they can receive help, support, and feel safe.
    These tasks are aimed at providing comprehensive support to victims, their rehabilitation, and integration into society.
