About the Project

Obtaining certification in non-technical inspection (NTI) for project staff and conducting non-technical inspections (NTI) in communities in the Kharkiv region; conducting sessions to inform the public about the risks associated with explosive ordnance (EORE) in communities in the Kharkiv region. The Kharkiv region is one of the areas of Ukraine most severely affected by hostilities. A significant portion of the region has endured prolonged occupation, active hostilities, and heavy shelling. As a result, large areas of populated areas, agricultural land, forested areas, and critical infrastructure remain potentially contaminated with explosive ordnance (EO) and remnants of war.

  • Despite the gradual stabilization of the security situation in some communities in the region, the danger posed by landmines remains one of the key risk factors for the civilian population. Residents are returning to their homes, resuming economic activities, and using dirt roads, forested areas, and abandoned plots without a clear understanding of the level of threat. The population’s lack of awareness regarding the risks associated with explosive ordnance increases the likelihood of dangerous behavior and incidents.

  • - Obtaining certification for non-technical surveys (NTS)
by project staff, and conducting non-technical surveys (NTS) in communities
    in the Kharkiv region
    - Conducting public awareness sessions on the risks
associated with explosive ordnance (EORE) in communities in the Kharkiv
    region.
