About the project

Within the framework of the project, five safe spaces for women and girls are being implemented: in Kharkiv, the village of Rohan (Kharkiv district), the town of Lyubotin (Kharkiv district), the village of Staryi Merchik (Bohodukhiv district), and the village of Ternova (Chuhuiv district). In particular, there is a mobile outreach team.
The project aims to support women living in the Kharkiv region, prevent and combat gender-based violence, support the psychological stability of the population in the region, and empower women and girls.

  • The Kharkiv region remains a high-risk area for women and girls due to the consequences of military action, forced displacement, social instability, and limited access to specialized services. In such conditions, the level of gender-based violence, psychological exhaustion, and social isolation of women is increasing.
The implementation of a network of safe spaces in the city of Kharkiv and communities in the Kharkiv region, including the work of a mobile outreach team, is critical to ensuring that women and girls have access to comprehensive support regardless of where they live. The project contributes to the creation of a safe environment where women can receive psychological assistance, information support, self-defense skills, and resources for recovery and personal development.
Thus, the project meets the current needs of the region, contributes to improving the psychological stability of the population, preventing gender-based violence, and expanding the rights and opportunities of women and girls in communities.

  • -Ensure the functioning of five safe spaces for women and girls in the Kharkiv region as centers of comprehensive support.
-Ensure access to services for women and girls from remote and rural communities through the work of a mobile outreach team.
-Provide psychological support to women and girls in order to reduce stress, anxiety, and the effects of violence or traumatic events.
-Promote the prevention and counteraction of gender-based violence through information, counseling, and referral to specialized services.
-Strengthen the psychological resilience and social adaptation of women in communities affected by the consequences of war.
-Expand opportunities for women and girls through educational, group, and motivational activities aimed at developing self-support and self-realization skills.
-Raise community awareness of women's rights, available support services, and mechanisms for responding to cases of violence.
