About the project
Such project activities as information sessions on issues of preparedness and protection during the conflict contributed to increasing the level of knowledge and skills in preparing the population for actions during critical situations that arise daily in their settlements.
For the period 2023-2024, NGO "Green-Landiya" together with Norwegian People's Aid has already implemented three successful projects to inform the population on issues of preparedness and protection during the conflict.
Project Importance
Kharkiv oblast remains a high-risk area, where the threat of conflicts is still significant. Information sessions to increase preparedness for emergencies are of critical importance for the population, especially in small settlements and state-owned enterprises of critical infrastructure, where such events are almost never held. These sessions provide vital knowledge which is necessary to reduce risks and increase the safety of residents. Preparing the population for possible threats is a relevant and necessary step in ensuring their safety.
Currently, the city of Kharkiv and Kharkiv oblast are one of the most dangerous regions of Ukraine, as they are daily shelled, have air-raid alerts lasting more than 24 hours, and have many fatalities due to non-compliance with safety rules during air-raid alerts. In the period from 24.02.22 to 14.08.24, 4569 air alerts were recorded with an average duration of 1 hour 22 minutes. In this case, we can conclude that Kharkiv oblast spent more than 6244 hours in the state of threat during this period of time.Objectives
● First project
During the implementation of the project (September 2023 - December 2023), information sessions on conflict preparedness and protection (CPP) and Explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) were held in Kharkiv oblast, which is a territory with a high level of threats directly related to the high level of contamination of the territory. During the project, various communities of the oblast were covered (both towns and rural communities).
Expected indicator: 1250 beneficiaries are covered by information sessions. As a result of the project implementation, this indicator was achieved and exceeded.
● Second project
During the project implementation (1.05.24-14.08.24), information sessions on conflict preparedness and protection (CPP) were held in the territory of Kharkiv oblast
Expected indicator: Number of beneficiaries covered is 1700 during the project implementation. As the result of the project implementation, this indicator was achieved and exceeded.
● Third project
During the project implementation (1.09.2024-31.12.2024), information sessions on conflict preparedness and protection (CPP) were held in Kharkiv oblast.
Expected results: During the project implementation the number of beneficiaries reached is 1440. As a result of the project implementation, this indicator was achieved and exceeded.Results
● First project
During the project implementation (01.09.2023 – 31.12.2023), information sessions were held on conflict preparedness and protection (CPP) and Explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) in Kharkiv oblast, which is a high-threat area directly related to the high level of contamination of the territory. During the project, various communities of the oblast were covered (both towns and rural communities). 2257 beneficiaries were involved in 192 information sessions.
● Second project
During the project implementation (01.05.2024-14.08.2024), information sessions were held on conflict preparedness and protection (CPP) in Kharkiv oblast. During this period, 12 communities were covered, in which 183 information sessions were held, attended by 2,237 beneficiaries
● Third project
During the implementation of the project (1.09.2024-31.12.2024), information sessions on conflict preparedness and protection (CPP) were held in the territory of Kharkiv oblast. In total, 1,441 beneficiaries were covered during the project implementation, in the course of which 122 sessions were held.
