About the project 

The “Circle of Trust” project in Balakliya, Kharkiv oblast aims to support women and girls who suffered from sexual and gender-based violence. The project provides access to specialized services, including individual and group psychological support, legal assistance, educational sessions, as well as health and recreational activities. By providing comprehensive support, the project helps women and girls overcome the consequences of violence, integrate into society, and regain control over their lives.

  • Importance of the project 

    This project responds to the urgent needs of vulnerable women and girls, promoting their recovery, rehabilitation and returning to full lives.
    ● offers specialized assistance – it provides survivors with quality psychological, legal and social support aimed at rebuilding their lives;
    ● creates a safe space, promotes trust, where women and girls can openly talk about their problems and receive help without judgment;
    ● prevents violence, increasing legal and psychological awareness, teaching self-defense and leadership skills, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence of violence;
    ● promotes integration into society (through group activities, educational initiatives and creative activities), helps survivors regain self-confidence and find new opportunities for development;
    ● supports health and well-being through health and recreational activities, promotes the restoration of the physical and emotional state of participants.

  • Objectives

    1. Provision of specialized services to survivors such as
    ● individual and group psychological support for women and girls who experienced sexual or gender-based violence.
    ● legal assistance, including consultations on legal issues related to domestic violence, divorce, custody, etc.
    2. Raising awareness among women:
    ● organization of educational sessions aimed at informing about the rights of women and girls and ways to protect them.
    ● conducting group information sessions on safety, health, leadership and career development.
    3. Psychosocial support:
    ● creation of conditions for conducting individual and group therapy sessions using effective tools for emotional recovery.
    4. Rehabilitation through creativity and engagement:
    ● help for participants to regain self-confidence and adapt to life in the community through involvement in joint activities and educational programs.
    ● develop self-defense, non-violent communication, and leadership skills.
    5. Creating a safe space:
    ● provide women and girls with a space where they can receive help, support and feel safe;
    These tasks are aimed at comprehensive support for survivors, their rehabilitation and integration into society.

  • Results

    ● Number of women and girls who visited a safe space – 686 persons;
    ● Number of women and girls who attended information and educational events – 372persons;
    ● Number of women and girls who received psychosocial support – 411 persons;
    ● Number of women and girls who received dignity kits – 300 persons.
