About the project

The co-founders participated in a project by the Caritas-Kharkiv Charitable Foundation as agro-consultants and social workers.
In the project, children with Down syndrome, along with neurotypical children, were engaged in growing microgreens, preparing healthy meals, doing crafts, dancing, and staging theatrical performances. This fostered the socialization of children with disabilities with the surrounding community.
This inspired the creation of their own NGO "Green-Landia".

  • Importance of the project

The "Sprouts of the future" project was created to enhance the socialization of children with Down syndrome and stimulate their development in an environment with neurotypical children. Joint activities, such as growing microgreens, crafts, preparing healthy meals, and dance, help overcome communication barriers and create a comfortable atmosphere for interaction.

This project is particularly important as it allows children with disabilities to feel like part of the community, promotes their socialization, and strengthens connections between different groups of children.

  • Objectives

    ● Development of social skills in children with Down syndrome through joint activities with neurotypical children.
    ● Training in healthy eating habits, microgreen cultivation, and crafts.
    ● Providing opportunities for creative self-expression through theatrical performances and dance.
    ● Strengthening connections between children with disabilities and the community, fostering tolerance and understanding.

  • Results

    ● Children with Down syndrome were given the opportunity to socialize in a safe and supportive environment.
    ● New skills were developed in microgreen cultivation, healthy eating, and crafts.
    ● Project participants were able to express their creativity through theatrical performances and dance.
    ● Community awareness of the needs and abilities of people with disabilities increased, promoting greater understanding and tolerance.

The project also inspired the co-founders to establish the NGO "Green-Landia", which continues to develop and implement projects aimed at supporting the socialization and development of children with disabilities.
